How FirstRung verifies that a job is genuinely entry-level
Every role we send has been read in full and checked against a single question: does this description ask for prior professional experience anywhere in it?
What the pipeline does
- Harvests fresh postings directly from company applicant tracking systems, not from aggregators.
- Fetches the complete job description for each one, not the search-results summary.
- Scans for an experience floor: years required, seniority markers in the title, and phrasing that implies a prior role.
- Keeps only postings with no floor, and records the sentence that justified the verdict.
- Never sends the same role to the same person twice.
What gets rejected
Anything asking for a number of years, anything with a seniority marker in the title, and anything whose requirements imply a previous professional role. Most postings labelled entry-level do not survive this.
Why the verdict is shown
Each role carries the reason it passed, so the judgement can be checked rather than trusted. If a description changes after we read it, the reason lets you spot that immediately.
