The entry-level bait

Same title. Opposite reality.

Two postings, both tagged “entry-level.” Only one is real. A keyword alert sends you the wrong one. We catch it before it reaches you.

Titles lie. Our verifier fetches the complete posting from the employer’s own hiring system and checks what it truly requires. If any line demands prior professional experience, it is rejected. Internships, coursework and projects never count against you.

  • Every line scanned for a hidden experience floor, not just the title.
  • A plain verdict on each role so you know exactly why it passed.
  • Senior titles removed automatically, no manager or lead roles.

What you get

It arrives already filtered.

No new app to check, no dashboard to babysit. Open your email, see a short list of roles that actually fit, and apply. That is the whole product.

  • Salary shown whenever the employer posted it, no guessing your worth.
  • Fresh first, roles posted in the last 24 hours ranked to the top.
  • Filtered to you, your city, remote preference and the role types you pick.
  • A direct link to the real application, never a dead aggregator page.

Business-side entry roles. Not software engineering.

Six role families where the honest zero-experience jobs actually are. We deliberately skip engineering listings, since that market is flooded and well served elsewhere.

Why not just use alerts

Alerts match words. We read.

A keyword alert cannot tell an “entry-level” title from a role that secretly wants three years. That is the whole difference.

Why FirstRung exists

Built for the graduate the market forgot.

The entry-level job stopped being entry-level.

Over the last few years, the number of postings labeled “entry-level” that actually require two or three years of experience has quietly exploded. New graduates now compete for “junior” roles against people who already have full-time résumés, and the honest zero-experience jobs sit buried under thousands of listings that only pretend to be open to them.

So a new grad sends out a hundred applications, hears nothing, and slowly concludes the problem is them. It is not. The problem is that nobody was reading the fine print for them.

FirstRung reads it. Every morning it pulls thousands of fresh postings straight from company hiring systems, checks each full description for a genuine zero-experience floor, and sends you only the ones that pass. No keyword guessing, no ghost listings, no repeats.

We win when you stop needing us. The whole product is built to get you hired and out, not to keep you subscribed. That is the promise: the first rung, made reachable.

The problem

“Entry-level, 3+ years required”

The single most common bait in the market. A title aimed at grads, a description aimed at people who are already hired.

The spark

One frustrated job hunt

After the fortieth fake listing, we wrote a script to read the full text of every posting and throw out the ones that were lying. The roles that survived were the real ones.

The product

That script became FirstRung

Full-JD verification, zero-experience floor detection, never-repeat history, delivered as one clean email a day.

The promise

Genuinely reachable roles, in your inbox, until the day you get the offer and cancel.

FAQ

Questions, answered

What does “verified” actually mean?

We fetch the complete job description from the employer’s own hiring system and check what it really requires. If it demands prior professional experience anywhere in the text, not just the title, it is rejected. Internships, coursework and personal projects never count against you.

Which roles do you cover?

Business-side entry roles: operations, sales and GTM, data and business analysis, customer success, marketing, and program coordination. We deliberately do not chase software-engineering listings, since that market is flooded and well served elsewhere.

How is this different from LinkedIn or Indeed alerts?

Alerts match keywords in titles. They cannot tell you the “entry-level analyst” role secretly wants three years in consulting, so you learn that only after tailoring a cover letter. We read the whole description first, and we never show you the same job twice.

How do I get the jobs, email or an app?

Email. A clean daily digest with direct links to each real application. No new app to check, nothing to babysit. You set your city, remote preference and role types once, and a dashboard is there when you want to track what you have applied to.

Can I cancel?

Yes. Pro and Concierge members can manage cancellation from the dashboard. A cancellation scheduled for the end of the billing period keeps access through the paid-through date. The 90-day pass does not auto-renew. Your saved roles and notes remain available after paid access ends.

Which plan should I choose?

Pro is $12/month for an ongoing daily search. The $29 pass gives you 90 days of Pro access with one payment and no automatic renewal. Concierge is $39/month for a bigger shortlist and a weekly human reviewer note. Unsure? Start with the free sample.

Is the chat a person?

No. It is an automated product guide, with AI helping match questions to reviewed answers. It cannot access your account or change billing, and it is separate from Concierge’s human reviewer. Email support@firstrung.xyz to speak to a person.
